Monday Inspiration #3

I was in a bit of a funk, this weekend, feeling the pressure of the full-time job + BCB + school; wondering if I have time/energy for it all. Last night when planning my Weekly Inspiration post, I couldn’t think of a single inspiring thing. As I was stewing about this, my brain got off track thinking about this opportunity. Now, I really can’t imagine myself on TV…but I did have fun ‘performing’ my submission to my dog while getting ready for bed. I enjoyed it so much, I realized that this little bit of fantasy had inspired me right out of my funk.

Maybe inspiration isn’t just that impetus to go, create; maybe it’s anything that changes the track I’m stuck on.

Unnamed Yarn

Since you all have been so generous with your suggestions for the Month of Love yarns, I’d like to ask your input on another name. I was attempting to spin a “SpongeBob & Patrick” yarn, with handdyed yellow bamboo and pink soysilk. The bamboo didn’t take the yellow dye as I had hoped and came out MUCH paler than “SpongeBob Yellow”.

Well, here, I’ll show you:

So it’s clearly NOT Spongebob & Patrick…what do you think it should be? I was considering Strawberries & Cream…but my husband argues that the bamboo is too yellow to be “cream”. Fiber Friday #4

Whew! You people sure do keep those suggestions coming! But I have to ask: does anyone take a look around before they post? Lately people have been repeating suggestions or suggesting couples I’ve already spun (and sold). Anyhow, this Fiber Friday I’m spending a good amount of time dyeing (for next week’s Month of Love yarns, which I’ll be spinning furiously this weekend!) and starting several new projects: 1. Project Spectrum! This month is all about Fire and Orange, Red and Pink. I think my ode to Johnny Cash and Ring of Fire fits in perfectly (pictured above), but after the Month of Love ends (Feb 14!), I think I’m going to start a series inspired by PS…Elementals, perhaps.
