You could do Ned and Chuck or Olive and Emerson from Pushing Daisies…
Ned and Chuck could be a crisp white for Ned (like his apron) building up to a vibrant yellow for Chuck (and her bees), with all kinds of buttery yellows in between!
For Olive and Emerson you could do a bright, sparkly light purple (for Olive because she's a bright and sparkly character) into a slick, dark purple for Emerson.

No loss of street cred and a great chance to see some new (to you) TV that doesn't suck! Both seasons of Torchwoord are on Nexflix streaming. (extra geek points for this note: “torchwood” is an anagram of “doctor who”)

So, I'm going to make a totally dorky suggestion... Can Has Cheezbrgr? With brown buns, leafy green lettuce, tomato red, cheesy yellow and deep brown burger.

Also, what about an Angel vs Devil yarn, with gold-and-white of angelic robes and a red-and-black devil to offset it.

Something from the Nutcracker, maybe, with the rich red and gold of his uniform and Clara's delicate white gown.
